On the Virgin Plus SuperTab?
How does the SuperTab work?
If you are hooked up on a Virgin Plus SuperTab, you’re in the right place. Here’s how your SuperTab works:
When you first got your phone, you got a discount off the retail price of your new phone and that discount became your SuperTab balance.
Each month, we put 10% of your monthly bill (before taxes) towards your SuperTab balance until it reaches 0. Pretty sweet, right?
The only times where you’ll need to pay off your SuperTab in full is if you’re planning to:
- switch your plan to a 2-year agreement
- upgrade to a new phone, or
- leave us (which we hope you’ll reconsider!)
HOW TO CHECK YOUR CURRENT BALANCE:
My Account
- Head to virginplus.ca/supertabbalance and log in
Heads up! As of August 8th, 2013, if you want to upgrade you’ll have to move to a 2-year agreement.
Got questions? We can help.

How do I change my plan if I’m on a SuperTab?
Although we no longer offer the SuperTab for new Members, you can still change your plan if you’re an existing Member on a SuperTab.
It’s free to change to a plan in the same plan level that you currently have (Silver, Gold or Platinum), however there may be charges if you switch to a plan in a different level. See our Change Plans page for more info plus step-by-step instructions on how to change your plan through My Account.
Heads up! If you want to move to a plan with a 2 year term, you’ll have to pay off your SuperTab balance since you’ll be starting a brand new agreement with us.

How do I upgrade to a new phone?
You can upgrade your phone at any time just by paying off your SuperTab balance.
Here’s what you’ll need to do:
- If you’re upgrading and still have a SuperTab balance owing, your balance will be added to your bill right away.
- If you’ve built up a positive balance after paying off your SuperTab, you still get to keep it! However, this balance will not lower the price of the phone when you’re in the store upgrading. The balance will be used as a credit on your next phone bill.
- If you’re on a Credit Limit, you’ll want to pay your SuperTab before upgrading to avoid any service limitations.
When you’re ready for a new phone, head to any Virgin Plus store and we’ll hook you up right away.
To check your current balance, log in to My Account and go to My Bill > Virgin Plus SuperTab History.
Heads up! As of August 8th, 2013, if you want to upgrade you’ll have to move to a 2-year agreement.

How do I exit early on SuperTab?
The SuperTab is a no-term contract, so you can upgrade or exit at any point. All you have to do is pay off your remaining SuperTab balance.
-
How long will it take to pay off my SuperTab?
Your SuperTab balance decreases over time based on how much your monthly bill is, so the time it takes for your SuperTab to reach 0 will be different for each Member.
-
Can I make one time payments towards my SuperTab?
One-time payments towards your SuperTab are not available, sorry! However, we’ll keep adding 10% of your monthly bill to your SuperTab balance. When you’re ready to upgrade, you can simply pay off your remaining SuperTab in full and get hooked up with a shiny new phone!
-
What happens if I lose or break my phone and I’m on a SuperTab?
Sadly, you’re still responsible for paying your SuperTab even if you lose your phone. However, if you and your phone get separated, you can pay off your SuperTab balance and start a new 2-year agreement with a shiny new phone!
