Under Warranty?
How to tell if your phone or data stick is covered by warranty
- If you bought a brand new phone, it’s eligible under manufacturer’s warranty for 12 months from the purchase date.
- If your phone or data stick was repaired while under warranty, then it will be covered by a 90 day warranty from the day it was repaired or a 1 year warranty from the original purchase date (with receipt), whichever is longer.
- The manufacturer’s warranty doesn’t cover normal wear and tear on your phone or data stick.
- Dropped phones and data sticks, exposure to moisture and/or extreme temperatures, modifications to software or hardware not authorized by the manufacturer and internal board damage would deem your phone or data stick unrepairable and void your manufacturer’s warranty.
Heads-up! We don't offer warranty support for phones or data sticks that were not purchased through Virgin Plus.
How to figure out if your phone is considered “defective”
Phones are generally considered to be defective and covered under warranty if the phone has stopped properly functioning through a defect from the manufacturer.
Phone damage not considered defective includes, but is not limited to:
- Cracks on or damage to the phone case indicating that the phone has been dropped.
- Damage indicating that the phone has been exposed to liquid.
- LCD damage such that the phone screen has cracks.
- Phones that have been modified or tampered with.
You can find a copy of the Manufacturer’s Warranty in your mobile phone’s box.
